Wyatt D. Swinford

About Wyatt D. Swinford

Mr. Swinford graduated from the University Of Oklahoma College Of Law in 2015. While attending law school, he was a member of the American Indian Law Review and contributed his time to the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. Wyatt also gained valuable experience by competing in the Albert R. Mugel National Tax Moot Court competition, which he won in 2015, and his brief was selected for best brief in both 2014 and 2015.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Swinford, an Okemah native, worked for the U.S. House of Representatives Agriculture Committee in Washington, D.C., under then-Chairman Frank D. Lucas. Mr. Swinford graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2011 where he served as the mascot, Pistol Pete, and was selected as the 2010 Homecoming King. Mr. Swinford rose from being selected as a top ten freshman man his first year at Oklahoma State to being named one of the top ten graduating seniors for the university his senior year.

Outside the firm, Wyatt enjoys helping his family with their ranching activities and working with their Quarter horses.

Mr. Swinford joined Elias, Books, Brown & Nelson in 2014. Wyatt’s practice focuses on a wide variety of litigation and transactional work, including issues relating to oil and gas, ad valorem taxation, and bankruptcy law.
