Vance Brown is a founding Partner of Elias Books. Vance represents exploration and midstream companies in all stages of dispute resolution and litigation related to contracts, well operations, royalty and late interest payment cases, midstream contract disputes, lease cancellation claims, environmental and earthquake claims, surface damage claims, pipeline rights of way and easement disputes, and disputes relating to participation rights under pooling orders and industry contracts. For nearly 40 years, Vance has advocated hundreds of cases before numerous Oklahoma state district and appellate courts, Oklahoma regulatory agencies, U.S. District Courts, and the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Active in the legal community, Vance is a past Chair of the Oklahoma Bar Association's Energy and Natural Resources Law Section. He is also a member and former President of the Mineral Lawyers Society of Oklahoma City. Vance is a frequent lecturer at continuing legal education seminars on topics concerning oil and gas exploration and environmental issues.

Born and raised in Oklahoma City, Vance received his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of Oklahoma in 1981. He continued his education at the University of Oklahoma College of Law, where he received his Juris Doctor in 1984. Outside of the practice of law, Vance enjoys traveling with his family, splitting vacation time between Lake Tenkiller, Oklahoma, Lake City, Colorado, and the Emerald Coast of Florida.
